Ledford and David Newton Crumley. My ggrandfather wrote a letter vouching for David's Civil War Service and his injury. David (or Elizabeth) had applied for a CW pension.” !REFERENCE: 12-Dec-2003 email from David Boehmer <dboeh@comcast.net> to Ken Crumbly <kenclara@tni.net>, “I ran across an application for a Civil War pension for either David N. Crumley or his widow. In the packet was a letter written by my great-grandfather, John Drury Logan. John vouched for David's term of service, David's health regarding a Civil War injury, and the fact that the Logan and Crumley families had a long standing relationship. I am really seeking any information that will help me to establish the John D. Logan migration. I am told that they lived for a while in Polk County, possibly Ducktown. I do know that David's sister was married to Thomas Isaac Fortenberry. Thomas' brother was Marcus Lafayette "Bud" Fortenberry who was married to Nancy D. Logan. Nancy was John D. Logan's sister.” | ||||||||||||||
